Hi! I'm Chuckie. Mom of 3 children, passionate foodie, small farmer, family & consumer scientist, and creator of Laughing Rooster Eats.

I started the website as a place to share with my community the recipes I cook for my family.
I love spending my time --
- raising goats, sheep, chickens, and my Jersey milk cow, Lady Mae
- developing recipes & as a food educator
- hosting cooking classes for kids, adults, and private groups
- working with brand partnerships & commissioned recipe development
- gardening vegetables (I'm much more committed to watering when there is a tasty payoff)
Experience
- 30 years of cooking experience
- Brand collaborations with Kansas Pork and Kansas Sorghum
- 7 years teaching Family & Consumer Sciences
- 10 years working with Kansas State University Extension, SNAP-Ed

Education
My love of food propelled me to seek a degree in Family & Consumer Sciences at Pittsburg State University. With my Bachelors in FACS, known as Home Economics for some of you, I taught Junior and High School kids the basics of nutrition and cooking.
I later got my Masters of Community Development to help me better build community in my communities locally and online.
I currently offer cooking classes for children and adults in Downtown Pittsburg, Kansas.
I enjoy helping kids make their family an entire dinner at our Supper Club, teaching a Beginning Bakers class to build confidence in our youngest chefs and topical classes such as pie making, noodle making, and bread baking.

Cooking with Chuckie
Food has provided many opportunities in my life, including sharing my love of food and farming with my community through the magic of TV on the local Morning Show.
Cooking on TV is like being a teacher but in a much larger classroom.
If I can break down a recipe in just 3 to 5 minutes to share on air, I know it's the kind of recipe anyone can make and is perfect for Laughing Rooster Eats.
Of course, some recipes are a bit more involved. But, I always focus on recipes worth making - Recipes that build your confidence in the kitchen and are so tasty that people ask YOU for the recipe.
After all, is there any better compliment than someone asking for your recipe?
Food is Connection
So, welcome to Laughing Rooster Eats. I invite you to join me in the kitchen for a journey filled with bravery, fearlessness, and a dash of vulnerability.
In a world that often judges and scrutinizes, I believe in setting aside those opinions and embracing our true selves - imperfections and all.
Because being genuine is a rare and beautiful quality that resonates with people.
So, let's savor every bite in our lives and celebrate the beauty of nourishing our bodies.
